What can you destroy, and what counts as cover?

Clear every breakable object and every enemy to finish a Banana Cat room. Fixed furniture blocks movement and attacks from both sides. It never breaks, pays coins or counts toward the clear. A room can still have enemies waiting to enter after the visible fight becomes quiet.

Use this strategy guide when you know the controls but are losing firing angles, getting caught by overlapping warnings or struggling to finish a room. The 30-room walkthrough gives the counts and enemy mix for each encounter.

Thing in the roomWhat it doesYour decision
Breakable objectHas health; destruction pays its reward and adds growth.Destroy it before leaving. Coin animations do not need collecting.
Explosive map objectIts blast can damage nearby objects along clear paths.Use it to start a chain, then check for newly eligible enemy waves.
Fixed furnitureBlocks movement and shots; has no health or reward.Move to its edge for an angle. Stop firing into its solid face.
Enemy or bossHas a finite place in the room’s roster, even before appearing.Defeat it; object cleanup cannot substitute for the enemy objective.

Environmental chain explosions damage other breakable objects, not cats. A Can Rocket’s weapon explosion is a different effect and can damage nearby enemies. Neither effect gives damage a route through fixed cover.

How to shoot around furniture

  1. Check the straight path. A target may be close but hidden behind a counter. Piercing attacks still stop at fixed cover.
  2. Choose an edge with an exit. Move around the near corner only if the next warning leaves room to continue. A longer route can be preferable to stepping into a charge lane.
  3. Fire from the open angle. Line up the target after passing the edge, then keep watching the other side of the furniture for approaching cats.

On touch controls, auto-aim only chooses targets in range with a clear path. If it keeps choosing a different target, moving may solve the problem better than holding the fire button in the same position. See touch aiming and manual aim for special weapons.

How cover works: an illustration, not a room map.

Cats route around furniture too. Cover is a temporary break in an attack path, not a place where the whole room stops threatening you. Fixed cover can interrupt a spinning charge or the boss’s rush; the enemy can approach from a new angle before its next attack.

Which weapon helps with a blocked shot?

A new weapon changes your approach, but it does not remove the room’s geometry. Use the full weapon comparison for damage patterns and the room unlocks for availability.

Weapon or effectUseful opportunityLimit around furniture
Banana Blaster / Rainbow LaserLine up multiple targets in one open lane.Piercing targets does not pierce cover.
Yarn BouncerA manually aimed bank shot off a flat furniture edge. One bounce, with reduced damage; corners and a second wall absorb it. Auto-aim does not plan the bank.
Can Rocket / Feather Chain WandAttack a visible cluster with splash or short chain jumps.Splash and each chain jump need an open path between targets.
Fishbone ReturnerMove to shape a return path through targets.Furniture absorbs the fishbone. Leave room for the return before throwing.
Candy MinelayerPlace a trap on an open route an enemy will walk across.Furniture can block placement and blast paths. Objects do not trigger a mine.
Sunflower ChargerHold a clear firing angle while charging.Releasing, changing weapons or pausing cancels an unfinished charge; a shot still cannot pass through furniture.
Cry BurstHit nearby enemies and interrupt ordinary cats.Needs a clear path, does not break objects or clear bullets, and does not grant invulnerability.

For worked visual examples, follow the yarn bank-shot trail, compare mine placement on either side of furniture, or inspect the fishbone’s return lane after moving.

Match the escape move to the attack warning

Watch the floor before deciding where to shoot next. Several cats can share the room, so choose a destination outside the active warnings, not merely farther away from the nearest cat.

Enemy and tellPractical responseCommon mistake
Paw Cat · short-range circleLeave the circle during preparation.Waiting for both visible paw gestures; they belong to one attack.
Didi · ring with a gapMove toward the open gap while keeping a reachable exit.Backing straight away without checking the approaching ring.
Cream Cat · fan of three shotsMove across the locked attack direction and use a gap between shots.Treating the three projectiles as separate warnings.
Spinning Tabby · straight laneCross the lane sideways before the charge starts.Running along the same line. The charge does not turn to track you.
Shy Tabby · slow heartShoot the heart or leave its path before approaching another warning.Ignoring it because it deals no direct damage; it slows movement by 30% for one second.
Black Cat · landing circleLeave the marked spot and choose an open landing-free route.Returning to the old mark before the pounce finishes.
Shield Dog · rush lane or slash sectorCross the rush line, leave the slash sector, then read whether a follow-up is coming.Stopping after a combo rush, before its separately warned slash.

Fresh attempts in rooms 21–30 add new warnings: tear pools, fire circles, paired palm strikes, sound-wave arcs and rolling citrus. Check the eight upstairs encounters before treating a familiar-looking enemy slot as its old attack. Fire and tear pools remain hazardous after release; furniture can interrupt the sound wave’s path.

Bubble Tea Blaster slows ordinary walking. It does not slow a boss, an active charge or the timing of attack warnings. Treat it as help with spacing rather than extra time to remain inside a marked attack.

When do new enemies spawn?

Most ordinary waves use three alternative entry conditions: enough objects destroyed, enough earlier enemies defeated, or enough combat time elapsed. Meeting one condition makes enemies eligible to enter. The room’s active-enemy limit, spawn spacing and an available safe spawn location still control the actual arrival.

This is why a wave can overlap the cats you are fighting, and why crossing a listed threshold does not mean every new cat appears instantly. Boss waves are different: they wait for all preceding ordinary cats to be defeated. Leftover objects do not prevent the boss from entering.

ExampleEntry conditionsHow to use the information
Room 1Opening Paw Cat; after the five-second opening window, later cats qualify through object breaks, preceding defeats or battle time. Maximum 2 active enemies.Break 8 / 18 / 26 objects, defeat all earlier cats, or reach 8 / 18 / 28 seconds of active play. Eligibility still waits for an available enemy slot.
Room 2, second group9 object breaks, 2 earlier defeats, or 8 seconds. Maximum 2 active enemies.A fast chain reaction can open the gate early, but active cats can still fill the room’s limit.
Room 22, later groupsSecond: 20 objects / 2 earlier defeats / 14 seconds. Third: 40 objects / 4 earlier defeats / 28 seconds. Maximum 3 active enemies.Recheck the next laundry lane when a gate opens; its new cats may approach from another side.
Room 294 groups, 12 ordinary enemies in total, maximum 4 active. New attempts mix all eight upstairs encounter types.Count the room roster separately from the number currently on screen.
Room 20 / Room 306 opening cats, then the boss; 2 finite reinforcements unlock at its half-health phase change.Do not treat the boss’s defeat as proof the enemy objective is complete.

On fresh attempts in rooms 21–28, the new encounter appears first. Other enemies wait until that introduction completes or its enemy is defeated. Rooms 29–30 mix encounters without this introduction step. Older saved attempts retain their original behavior.

These are gate values, not a guaranteed spawn schedule or a completion-time estimate. When continuing after defeat, already defeated enemies stay defeated and the remaining finite roster is preserved.

How to beat Shield Dog: guard, dodge, recovery

During its guard, Shield Dog reduces damage from the front. Move to a side angle when the route is clear instead of spending the whole guard firing into its shield. After an attack finishes, its recovery creates an opening to reposition and fire. Damage is blocked during spawning and the half-health transition.

Boss roomPatternOpening to recognize
5 · The Shield CheckGuard and close-range slash; no rush.Leave the marked sector, then use the post-slash recovery.
10 · Dog on the ChargeAlternating rush and slash.Read the shape each time: cross a lane, leave a sector.
15 · The Combo Test / 25 · The Laundry InspectorRush followed by a separately warned slash. The stop after the rush is a combo pause. Finish the second dodge before treating the sequence as over.
20 · Defender of the FridgeMixed single attacks, then rush–slash combinations below half health. Spinning Tabby then Shy Tabby reinforcements.Use the phase change to read the new positions. Watch the additional cat’s warning while planning the boss dodge.
30 · A Home Above the CloudsTwo phases and rush–slash combinations. Shy Tabby then Spinning Tabby reinforcements.Address the heart’s path before the charge pressure arrives. Keep checking both objectives after the boss falls.

A rush hitting furniture does not remove a planned follow-up slash. Read the next warning before stepping back in. Cry Burst can damage an exposed boss, but it does not knock the boss back or replace the required dodge.

Finish the room deliberately

Once pressure eases, use the two counters to decide what to do next. Destroyed objects credit their coins immediately; crossing a dangerous firing lane to collect the coin animation is unnecessary. If only objects remain, equip a weapon that can hit them directly.

When both objectives are complete, the result screen is your signal to move on. Between fights, check shared quality or refinement if its requirements are met. Buying power does not change which objects or enemies a room requires.
